Tummy Yummy in Puerto Rico

Most people come to Puerto Rico for sunny weather and beautiful beaches, but did you know about its terrific variety of restaurants? Authentic ethnic cooking to seafood, here’s a short list of places you might want to check out.
Aquaviva — With its name meaning jellyfish, this is a modern ultra hip seafood restaurant with a Latin flair that serves up everything from raw oysters to paella. You can get a great mix of seafood delights if you order the torres del mar (towers of the sea).
Augusto’s — This award-winning restaurant is the creation of Austrian-born chef Augusto Schreiner, a graduate of the Salzburg Culinary School. The cuisine is classic European and veal chops are among the favorite dishes.
Blossoms — The is an Asian restaurant with teppanyaki tables where the food is grilled right in front of you. The chefs put on quite an entertaining performance. They also serve Hunan and Szechuan specialties.
Il Perugino — With it’s ancient Roman décor, this Italian restaurant will surely awaken your taste buds. Try the ravioli stuffed with chicken liver, spinach and black truffles. They also have an excellent wine cellar.
Ajili-Mojili — Enjoy a great view of Condado Bay from this delicious Caribbean restaurant set in a plantation-style house. Try delicious Puerto Rican dishes like De Langosta y Camarones(lobster chunks with shrimp).
Bamboobei — This restaurant is cool and colorful and is right across from the beach. It serves a nice mix of seafood along with an array of tropical fruit
La Mallorquina — Founded in 1848, this may well be San Juan’s oldest restaurant. It serves up an excellent variety of Puerto Rican and Spanish dishes such as the paella. La Mallorquina offers a charming an romantic atmosphere.
Pamela’s — This tropical San Juan restaurant is unique because it offers outdoor seating on the sand overlooking the ocean. It serves up a variety of Caribbean dishes including an excellent Jamaican jerk shrimp and blackened salmon.
