Operation Chaos: What to Pack for the Parks

March 11, 2008

Packed TrunkSo it’s Orlando or bust. I’m sure that means that you’re getting excited for all the thrills and magic of the theme parks. Now the next step is making the necessary preparations for your visit. Have you even thought of what to bring with you on your adventure? To make sure your visit to the parks is all you had hoped for and more, there’s a list of helpful items that you should pack.

First and foremost before you bother to pack anything make sure you don a comfortable pair of shoes. You’ll be walking and walking and walking so leave the flimsy flip-flops at home. Also make sure you wear easily recognized shirts and caps so you can spot your family members in a crowd.

Next you need a reasonably-sized backpack to tote all the items around. It needs to be big enough to fit everything and small enough so you can fit on the rides. Now pop some sunscreen into the pack, the Florida sunshine can be brutal on your skin. Also try to include at least two cell phones so you can stay in communication if your family decides to separate.

If you have small children they always seem to find a way to get wet or dirty at the theme parks, so a change of clothes is good to take along. Also if you have room, bring along some juice drinks and snacks for the kids. You must not forget at least one camera if you want to capture all the magical memories of your trip. Last but not least remember that the theme parks lines can be long and the Florida sun can be hot, so make sure you have a sense of humor about the whole thing.
